GeoBase Desktop System Requirements

This topic describes the system requirements for the GeoBase Desktop component. Figures outlined in this topic should be taken as a guide.

Required software:

• .NET v4.0 or higher. When running under .NET 4.0, use the .NET 4.0 Full Profile rather than the .NET 4.0 Client Profile.
• Microsoft Windows Vista or higher, or Microsoft Server 2008 or higher.

Required hardware:

• A modern CPU with 1-2 GB of RAM.
• Approximately 3 GB of unused hard-disk space for GeoBase data.

When using a LocalRepository class as your data source (as opposed to a GeoStreamRepository), a 64-bit processor is recommended for best map performance.
